Waiting Proxy and wake-on-join
How a Minecraft connection wakes a sleeping Victus server and transfers the player when it is ready.

The Waiting Proxy is the connection layer in front of supported managed Minecraft servers. It lets Victus stop an empty backend without turning the player-facing hostname into a dead address. It is an infrastructure service, not a second customer control panel.
What happens when you join
- 1Your Minecraft client connects to the managed hostname assigned by Victus Panel.
- 2The proxy identifies the backend for that hostname and asks Victus Panel for its state.
- 3If the backend is stopped, the authenticated internal integration requests one wake action. Cooldowns prevent repeated power requests.
- 4You remain in the waiting experience while the proxy polls for readiness.
- 5When the backend is online, the proxy transfers your connection automatically.
Use the managed hostname
Wake-on-join depends on traffic reaching the Waiting Proxy. Connecting directly to a backend IP and port bypasses that flow and cannot wake a stopped server. Copy the hostname displayed for the server rather than guessing an address.
If the transfer does not complete
- Wait up to two minutes; first boot, installs and crash recovery can take longer than a normal restart.
- Open Victus Panel and inspect Console. Press Start there if the automatic wake did not begin.
- If the server repeatedly starts and crashes, repair the console error; the proxy cannot transfer to an unhealthy backend.
- Open a support ticket with the server ID and managed hostname if the panel says online but the proxy never transfers you.
