Share files

Victus Drive lets you share any file or folder without giving people your login. You create a share link, optionally lock it down with a password and expiry, and send it. Because Drive is Nextcloud, you get fine-grained control over what recipients can do.

Create a share link

1. 1In https://drive.victuscloud.com, hover over the file or folder and click the share (chain-link) icon to open the sharing sidebar.
2. 2Click "Share link" to generate a public link. A URL is created and copied for you.
3. 3Open the link’s settings (the "..." / options menu next to the link) to adjust permissions before you send it.
4. 4Paste the link to your recipient over any channel you like.

Password protection and expiry

For anything sensitive, add a password so only people with the passphrase can open the link, and set an expiration date so the link stops working automatically. In the link settings, toggle "Set password" and enter one, then toggle "Set expiration date" and pick the date. Send the password over a separate channel from the link itself.

One-time / self-destructing links

To hand someone a link that works exactly once, combine two settings: set the expiration date to today (or the earliest allowed) and, where the "Hide download" / limited-use options are available, restrict it. The most reliable single-use pattern on Drive is to set a password plus a same-day expiry, then delete the share right after the recipient confirms they have the file.
