Server states explained (installing / offline / starting / suspended)
Understand every status your Victus server can show — Installing, Offline, Starting, Running, Stopping and Suspended — what each means, and what to do about it.
The coloured status label at the top of a server tells you exactly what it is doing right now. Knowing the states saves a lot of confusion — for example, "Installing" is normal after a fresh order or a version change, while "Suspended" means the panel has locked the server and you cannot power it on until the cause is resolved.
The states

| Installing | The server is downloading and setting up its files (fresh provision, reinstall, or after changing server type/version on the Startup tab). | Wait. Do not start or interrupt it. It moves to Offline when done. |
| Offline | Set up but not running. | Press Start when you want it online. |
| Starting | Booting — the process is launching and initialising (world load, plugins, etc.). | Watch the Console; it becomes Running once fully up. |
| Running | Online and accepting connections. | Nothing — this is the healthy state. |
| Stopping | Shutting down gracefully (saving data). | Wait for it to reach Offline before starting again. |
| Suspended | The panel has locked the server; it cannot be powered on. | Resolve the cause (usually billing) — see below. |
"Installing" is normal — let it finish
A brand-new server, a reinstall, or a server-type/version change on the Startup tab all trigger an install cycle. It downloads the server software fresh. Interrupting it can leave files incomplete, so wait until it drops to Offline.
Why a server gets suspended
Suspension is a lock, not a deletion — your files are still there, but you cannot start the server until it is unsuspended. The most common reasons on Victus are:
- Billing — the service is unpaid, an invoice is overdue, or your credit balance ran out at renewal. Top up credits and pay the invoice on billing.victuscloud.com; the service is typically unsuspended once payment clears.
- Free-server renewal - use the Renew action and exact deadline in Victus Panel. A missed deadline suspends the server, followed by deletion after the displayed retention window.
- Anti-abuse / policy — running multiple accounts to farm free resources ("alting") or a terms violation can suspend the account and its servers. This is resolved through a support ticket, not by making a new account.
Suspended and you do not know why?
For a paid service, check Billing for an unpaid invoice or empty balance. For a free service, check its renewal state in Victus Panel. If neither applies, open a support ticket with the server name/ID—do not create another account to get around it, as that can suspend everything.
Stuck starting or crash-looping?
If a server flips between Starting and Offline, read the Console for the error — a bad plugin/mod, a mismatched version after a Startup change, or too little memory are the usual causes. Check https://status.victuscloud.com to rule out a platform-wide incident first.
